So a few months ago a lady by the name of Dorothea emailed me asking if she could paint one of my landscapes, I’ve had a handful of requests in the past and I will always allow anyone to paint one of my scenes because lets be fair, there not mine scenes, ive just been in the right place and the right time, some planned some not to capture the light and the beauty unfold before me!!
I am also very fortunate to be able to get out and about and be mobile, (I never was for about 6 years) so I certainly can relate to be in front of a wonderful scene to just admire. Not everyone is so able bodied and that’s another reason I will always say its fine, and its another reason why I love going out into the countryside.
The only stipulation I ask is that if you do get round to finishing the painting, could you send me a photograph of your work, I feel extremely humbled that I’ve managed to capture a scene that some one thinks is worthy of painting.
Anyway Dorothea emailed me back just after Christmas saying that she had finished her rendition of St Bartholomew’s Church in Butterton, which is one of my favorite pictures and this is it
I really do feel that she has done an outstanding job as she is a beginner (I wouldn’t know where to start!) and I hope you all the best with your future renditions!
